AquaDraft Update Notes (July 2026)

We’ve added new placement tools, creatures, and assets to AquaDraft. Here’s a summary of this update.

Brush Placement: Moss & Carpet Plants

You can now grow moss and carpet-type plants by dragging across rocks, driftwood, or the substrate, instead of placing them one click at a time.

  • Moss brush — Drag across the surface of rocks, driftwood, or the substrate to grow moss there. Adjust the brush size to shape a natural-looking growth.
  • Carpet brush — Pick a plant, then drag across the substrate to spread a dense, even patch at the density you choose.

We’ve also made moss rendering lighter, so camera movement stays smooth even with moss placed. The look is unchanged — only the performance improved.

Creatures

We’ve refreshed the Cardinal Tetra model and added a Type II variant. We’ve also adjusted the brightness of all fish for a more natural look in the tank.

Plants

  • Cryptocoryne Balansae
  • Vallisneria II
  • Hygrophila Polysperma
  • Anubias Nana
  • Rotala Indica

Driftwood

  • Horn Wood / Horn Wood Type II — now organized under the same hierarchical UI as rocks, making it easier to pick a type.

Lighting & Night Mode

  • Added the Flat Bar Light, a new light fixture design.
  • Added the Floor Stand Lamp — placeable beside the tank, it lights up in night mode. You can switch its left/right and front/back position.
  • Simplified night mode to a two-stage day/night toggle, and brightened it slightly so fixtures and stands stay visible at night.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where manually adjusted weights weren’t correctly saved and restored.
  • Fixed an issue where loading a layout could shift item identities, causing weight/budget overrides to restore incorrectly.
  • Fixed a bug affecting group rotation.
  • Fixed an issue where the Dragon Stone could fail to load.
